Next week Claudia McGehee and I will travel to Knoxville, Iowa to share our book Begin with a Bee with the Second Graders at the West Elementary School and the Northstar Elementary School. The Knoxville Rotary Club is sponsoring our visit and they have generously provided each second grader with a copy of Begin With a Bee.

I am so grateful to the Knoxville Rotary for their gift to the second graders. It is the gift of a book, and the gift of excitement in owning a book, which in many cases will lead to more reading, more proficient reading.

And, speaking of bees, this was the scene at our bird waterer yesterday. Lots of thirsty bees.
